    Denon DCD-1560 Skips

    Hello Forum,

I have an older Denon DCD-1560 CD Player that skips from one track to another while playing. I have cleaned the laser using several cleaning disks but I have not seen any improvement. No CD that I have will play through from the beginning to the end. This is a nice CD Player and I would like to keep it, but not sure if it is worth having it fixed. Any help on just what to do?

    Thanks

For the last resort, you may want to take cover off CD player to clean it manually with q-tip and alcohol. That is what I had to do to my computer CD player to get it working again as it would not read the discs anymore.

There are discs you can buy that clean the laser with a very gentle brush. I believe Maxell makes one. Try that and if your CD's continue to skip, it's time for a new one. Everything has a life. CD players have improved dramatically over the past recent years. Stick with a higher end brand and not the mass market ones (i.e. NAD, Marantz, Rotel, etc).
