The other Bose PC speakers has the same computer chips too so of cource if I got the one that costs more then it would even sound more like life. I really wish I can afford and get the MusicMonitor that costs $400 pair. These are the best compac and small speakers there is. I heard how they sound and they sound soo amazing like there is a subwoofer but there isn't one. It's Bose's top of the line PC speakers. Truely I think these are the top of the line speakers for the size. Meaning there's nothing better sounding speaker that is this compact size. It really plays those true low bass like a sub even there is no sub. But of cource if you want even more bass then get The Companion® 5 multimedia speaker system since those will have more bass since it has a real sub.

Here's some details for the MusicMonitor.

Here are some top features for the MusicMonitor that cost $400 pair.

    Proprietary acoustic design
Dual internal opposing passive radiators deliver unusually deep, powerful low tones from a very small system.

    High output
Thin but powerful neodymium transducers have 10 times the magnetic energy density of conventional speaker magnets, so they're small in size, yet produce high output.

    Efficient amplification
Switching amplifier is smaller, lighter and 50% more efficient than traditional linear amplifiers.

    Active electronic equalization
Balances low, mid and high frequencies for more natural tone and clarity.

    Elegant design
Aluminum casing with metallic silver finish complements any laptop, PC and workspace.

    Choice of controls
Volume and power controls located discreetly on side of right speaker, or use handy remote.

    Easy connectivity
Speakers connect to your laptop, PC or a portable audio source with provided cable; A/C power pack also included.

    Shielded speakers
Prevent interference with CRT computer screens and prevent data loss from storage media placed near the speakers.

    Here are more features.

With these high-quality speakers, you can enjoy:
The precision of full-range sound reproduction.
The impact of wide sound stage performance.
The convenience of compact speakers that outperform
    many larger speakers.

The freedom of movement you gain with the supplied
    remote control.
The angled style that fits on your desktop and directs
    the sound where you sit.
The confidence provided by solid construction and
    elegant design.
The experience of proprietary Bose® technologies that
    bring you all of this.

Thanks Sticky. Now look what you've done. You know that you can tell any lie you want, and this poor kid will believe you. But for some reason he never believes the truth.
Truth: Spanky, Bose is all hype. You are spending your hard earned cash on their advertisement scam. You can do much better at a fraction of the cost with almost any other manufacturer. (Baring Wal-Mart & Radio Shack brands). Don't fall into their trap. All that extra proccessing they are doing colors the sound and keeps it from sounding real.

These stores are profit motivated, not customer motivated. As long as they can sell over-advertised and over-priced products such a Bose and Monster, they will. They are under no obligation to tell customers that they can get similar or superior performance at a much lower price, even within those same walls. Why should they? The high profit margin on lines such as these are what keep these guys ibn business.

the guillibilty of the average consumer is most certainly a key point for these two manufacturers and their outlets.

Well this is just a scurrilous post. I think you're doing SVI and, indeed, the viewing public a great disservice by degrading the fine names of Bose and Best Buy, not to mention the implication, nay the outright assertion, that I might be trying to pull the wool over our young friend's eyes. I'm a bit resentful.

...and what's this about the processing chip being responsible for the degradation of sound? Didn't you read, it's the digitized computer processing chip that creates the most complete level of realism available utilizing the room's own parameters to accurately reconfigure soundwaves into an exact replication of the live event.

I think you owe an apology to many.

The folks at Best Buy are good corporate citizens. I recognize that in this day and age the popular inclination is to demonize companies that create jobs and provide a level of personalized service, but c'mon, it's at best disingenuous to imply that the good people of BB had anything but Spanky's best interests at heart. Sour grapes, perhaps? Green is not good on you my friend. Rather than begrudge SVI his success and happiness in the world of hi-fi you and I should embrace his entrance into our world.

We should encourage our young man in his quest to make as many friends at the retailer as possible.

Spanky, your development in the understanding and implementation of hi-end systems can only be improved by your new friendships at Best Buy. I suggest you spend as much time there as possible. Bring Forrest too.

bose = cheap manufactured, cheap parts, bad quality, and high prices & especially profits for the comany...

Not really, you could have got them here:
    http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...76&dcaid=17902
    for $79

    or at Sam's Club
    http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/nav...=5&item=349465
    for $69

could have gotten a refurbished pair for $54 here
    http://unityelectronics.stores.yahoo...2muspsy11.html

So, no wise guy, you didn't get the Best Buy. You were had and you helped keep Best Buy in business ripping off unknowing customers. A lot like yourself. It took me less than a minute to Google the speakers and find them cheaper than best buys.

Well at least you may like this new pair for longer than a week......maybe

Well, now y'all are just getting mean-spirited and, Bert, you're making defaming claims against the work of the highly esteemed Dr. Bose. I mean, the man is a doctor for gosh sake, he's a well-read and learned man educated in science and complicated sound stuff.

Stick to your guns Spanky. Bose rawks.

The best top speakers I liked so far are the Bose Companion® 2 Series II since they have the auto tonal control so it adjusts the bass and treble by itself and also because it has alot of deep low bass for it's size and I also like the Philips MMS321/17 speakers since they are cool looking and have high end neo magnets plus 80 watts of power.

LOL...read a few more posts. Spanky wants to use his Laptop and a cheap pair of speakers for life to listen to MP3s...Forever. He is not interested in aspiring to an actual audio system.
