    2X and 4X CD upsampling?

I,m having fun learning as I try to pick out some budget equipment, and have a lot of questions.

I am interested in getting a DVD player to use primarily for listening to music.

I have been reading about universal players like the Toshiba 4960 or Pioneer 578 so that I can try out some SACD's.

However, I'm sure most of the CD's I listen to will not be SACD. I have seen the spec.'s of some players like the Yamaha 5750 (with no SACD playback) have 2X and 4X upsamlping of CD's. I wondered just how much better CD's sound with upsampling.

I guess its "over", thanks. I've found some interesting articles on this, but the bottom line seems to be how the extra data is manipulated.
