    Spades for Yamaha tuner

Posted also in the home theatre section...thanks...

I currently have a Yamaha 4600 and cannot figure out how to have spade ends work for the tuner side. I currently have spades for my speakers but cannot figure out how to work spades for the tuner. Does this tuner accept spades?

First of all you have a receiver. You may have to remove the spade lugs from the ends of the speaker cables you wish to attach to your receiver.

A receiver is actually three separate devices in one box.

    1. Preamplifier --- This has all the switching and control circuitry.
    2. Tuner --- This receives FM and AM signals.
    3. Power Amplifier --- This amplifies the signal and drives the speakers.

Some audiophiles have separate pieces like my self. Some have integrated amplifiers. They have a Preamplifier and Power Amplifier in one box and need a separate Tuner for AM and FM reception.
