Hiding the wires and cables

I have a 6 shelf audio system (standard open sides with glass shelves). I have always been able to hide the wires in the vertical plane in built in chases/tubes. I have never been able to hide the wires behind the components. I have tried zip ties, and flex tube to bundle the wires but it still looks bad when viewed from the side. I recently came across a product on the internet called the "Cable Veil" by WireHide. Has anyone used this to hide the wires and cables? It looks like a great idea since it covers the wires and cables by effectively extending the component case. Please let me know if any of you have any experience with the Cable Veil. I may just go ahead and buy it anyway. It would be worth every penny if I could get my wife to stop complaining about the visible cable mess.

Whatever you do, do not bundle IC with power cables. Let power cord hang by themselves

Thanks for the tip but this product doesn't bundle the cables at all. I found the web site it's www.wirehide.com.

I bought the Cable Veil to give it a try. The Cable Veils came in a 6 pack box with 2 pieces in 3 sizes. As advertised they were black on one side and silver on the other. The black color exactly matched my systems black finish. It took about 45 minutes to measure and bend the Cable Veils to fit my components and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I just bent the aluminum over my kitchen counter edge (no tools). This is definately one of those products that make you kick yourself for not thinking of it yourself. I only ended up using 4 of th 6 Cable Veils since some of my components were already very deep so now the other 4 match their depth. From about 4 feet away you can't even tell they are there.

I give this product 5 stars out of 5 for ease of use and the results. My wife was very pleased and that made the project that much more rewarding.

I am giving my two extra Cable Veils to my neighbor. He has a silver system so I will let you know how well they color match his system.

I gave my left over Cable Veils to my neighbor. He used them on his VCR and DVD player sitting on his TV stand. His products are Sony brand, silver color, and they silver side of the Cable Veil matched perfectly. This is going to catch on!

My audio stand has a hole on the back of each MDF shelf to rung the cables in, why not have all cables together what will the power cord do to the IC even if they are shielded ?

it can distort the image a bit. or get these white flickering dots on the screen sometimes.
