Cable life?

Since I live in Costa Rica, all high end audio cables and speaker wires are incredibly expensive. I have been using my Monster Cables for over 12 years now and notice that on many of them the outer coating by the ends have darkened. However, it appears that they are working fine.
Should I cut off the darkened ends and reattach the terminals?

Yep, as long as you can get to clean wire and the insulation is still in good shape. -Bruce
