Hi all, been a while since I posted and just as long since I've been keeping up with home theater. I just finished building our custom house and am now thinking about the A/V setup.
I ran over 6000 feet of low voltage wiring for integrated A/V and am pretty much set on the "innards" of my system, but need some help with a few components.
In order to get some of the things I wanted, the wife and I had to compromise - for example, I wanted floor standing mains and a flat screen, she said no way, only in-walls. So I got some in-walls from www.htdaudio.com and am hoping they'll work out (I'll be doing a second audio-only 2-channel system in my study, and that'll have some nice big B&W's to satisfy me. However, now I need a new sub to go with the in-walls. I'll be using the Yammie RX-V2500 as my primary and want a powered sub that will work in a 25- by 40-foot great room. The problem is, it has to have a furniture finish, preferably a cherry veneer.
Also, I want an HDTV but the wife says it has to be hidden for parties and when we have clients over (it'll be our model as well as our home) so I either need a plasma display in the wall with a motorized screen to cover it (very expensive) or a piece of furniture to hide the screen...
So in summary:
1) good sub with a cherry finish, on par with svs/paradigm/partsexpress
2) how do I get HDTV without the typical "huge box" that a rear projector (even DLP) has - frpont projector is not an option due to room architecture
Thanks in advance!
