    Lightbulb Tuner Question

I'd welcome thoughts on the best tuner...I've narrowed the search to NAD C422, Rotel RT02 and Cambridge Audio DAB300. Source is a Simaudio integrated i-3 amp. Any advice would be appreciated.

Consider a vintage tuner. Check out what many FM aficionados had to say about hundreds of tuners:

I happen to own a Sony ST-5000F and a number of Akai AT-V04's & AT-K03's. These are all amazing sounding and performing tuners even in stock form...

Kenwood and Sansui analog tuners are also highly prized, although I don't own any yet.

A sansui TU-9900. I've got one and nothing touches it for looks. The blue backlighting is very seductive.

Although I wouldn't mind an MR78 my old Accuphase is more than sufficient. I can pick up Howard Univ. in DC when WRTI (90.1) in Phila. goes off the air. This is with an indoor TV antenna. Although it is an analog tuner the fit feel and finish is superb. It is large and heavy, larger and heavier than a lot of modern receivers. It also sounds better than most other tuners.
