    Question Marantz TT1200

    Does anyone know if $40.00 for a Marantz TT1200 direct drive turntable is
    a good deal? Anyone know about the quality?

    Nothing special! What is the condition? If it is in great condition it is ok price but don't think you are getting a deal! Most of them go for $20 to $50!

    If it's in good shape, it's probably still a little on the high end. If it has a working cartridge and is running, $40 is fine.

    I'd say get a Technics, JVC or Pioneer direct-drive. If you want a vintage Marantz, try the 6100, 6300 or other 6000 series.
