Info on Technics Turntable?

I just came into posession of a Technics SL-D1 turntable. Its in excellent condition, but I can't seem to find any info on it. Trying to find out when it was made. It's got a Shure M44-7 cartridge. Is there a site to find out what other cartridges are interchangeable with the Shure, if I want to upgrade? Does Technics have any listings for older turntables? Thanks

And, Shure still makes that cartridge, so you can get a replacement stylus easily, and I believe there is actually a stylus upgrade you can do to get an eliptical instead of the standard spherical that comes on that one.

Hi Brandon,
Sorry I didn't answer you right away. I was away on vacation. I got the manual and it was a great help in assembling the turntable. Now I'm waiting for a new cartridge to be delivered. Should sound great. And the new cartridge will work on my other Technics turntable so that is a bonus. Thanks for your help.
