So your pretty much saying its not worth it ? cause i dont want to buy something that is that old like 11 years thats almost to much for me especially for that much, a Rotel 1080 just went on for 530 o.b.o i wouldnt mind that but he only ships to the states unless i can convince him otherwise and on the 1070 thats a possiblity it depnds on how good of shape it is in

Well I would not say its not worth it. If you want it go for it. Nothing wrong with oler gear if its maintained well.

The 1080 would be a better match for the rc 1090 pre....trust me on that one....thats the same outfit I have. Its killer. You can get the 1070 later if you want me to drop money down on it for you to hold....I think the lay away is 90 days.

i know it is kinda worth it but i have only 650 right now and i need to buy either one power amp like the 1080 or two 1050's or a 1050 and a 1070 its very hard to decide i think if he is willing to ship the 1080 to canada im gonna buy it cause its a very good deal and its only 16 months old, hmm im not sure ill see what happens by the end of the day and if i get any emails or anything cause i dont want to commit to something then end up going a different way

How can the 1080 only be 16 months old? it has not been in production for years?

Well that could be correct. I thought it was about 3-4 years ago that it went out of production.

It is done i bought the Rotel 1080 from the guy on audiogon, it only cost me $556 which isnt bad and i know they will i just cant wait till it arrives now so i can hook it all up again. Im wondering with the 1080 if i should give it a fair bit of room to breath hmm

By front end I meant preamp, power amp and pretty much the electronics that transmit the sound to your speakers. Some people refer it to the front end of their system which can include cd player to preamp to amp and ETC.

Yeah...you want to make sure there is enough room on the sides and top so it can vent. They get a little warm if you like to play loud. What are you using for a preamp?

I will make sure there is enough room i can move my shelfs around a little more to accommodate venting room. I am using a Rotel 1082 for a pre amp which should pare nicely with my Rotel RB1080 power amp
