I just said Krell 3 times in 3 different sentences, perhaps it's me who is the Krell spammer.

You're probably right, I just love Emotiva's pricing on their more basic models. I just feel that spending all of that cash blindly is nuts, start with a really low price point and then work up as tastes set in. Anyhow, we could talk about this endlessly, the Krell is certainly another avenue for, shoot I have to check his name.....right, Bentley.

Yes I have become a Krell fan. Boy not so much. I am 53 and was looking for the last integrated amp I would ever need to buy. Between diabetes, my heart and the destruction to my liver I think it will outlast me. Oh and enough power to delay the need for hearing aids. Hey at least I still have a full head of hair.

I haven't heard them, though I'm told that the Simaudio "house sound" is a little on the "dark" side, (with due respect to Lord Vader).

They are pretty gorgeous looking though. (Can't resist a pic ... arrgh ... )

Personally for the same sort of buck, I'd rather have a Pass Labs INT-150. (Damn; I'm doing it again ...)

Nice looking stuff for sure Bill. Hey Bentley, if you're still around, I hope our bump in the road doesn't sour you to AR. Stick around and no hard feelings ya?

No hard feelings at all. I definately do not have unlimited cash, (wouldn't that be nice), so whatever components I decide on I will be trying to get for around half price. I have about seven grand to spend. Right now I have an NHT home theatre system in my living room, with a pioneer elite plasma, and it's a great system. I am looking to create an audio room in my basement, with a much nicer two channel system. I am really liking the i7. Anyone with more hands on experience?

I definately agree with Feanor, I would look close at the Pass Labs stuff before going with the Simaudio unit. I have been a huge fan of Nelson Passes designs since I started studying audio systems and know that he would not put his name on something that would have a superior unit in the same price class. he also is a big DIY supporter and that impresses me that he incourages DIY. I would at least listen to the Pass Labs unit if you could before spending this kind of money on an integrated.

    hi

i own an i-3 and am very happy with it, the most musical amp that i have ever owned. i have heard the i-7 on several occasions and i think you would be very happy with it. of course at that level you must be very careful selecting the other components of your system.
