    Question on Marantz MA-500

Would it be possible to bridge 2 MA-500 and power an SVS 20-29CS passive sub? The SVS specs read:
Power handling, 500 watts RMS. 4 Ohm load.

The specs on the MA-500 read

    Bridged mode (2 x MA-500)
    Continuous power output (RMS)
    8ohm20 Hz - 20 kHz <.1% THD 360 W

    EIA Dynamic power
    8 ohm500 W
    4 ohm 600 W

I don't profess to know what all this means so any help on the subject would be apprciated.

The power handling on the SVS may be 500W, but you don't really need that much to make this sub sing. Isn't the MA500 a mono amp in the first place? Why would you want to use more than one of these and add that much complexity?

    Thanks for the reply

As it turns out a 20-39 PCI came up on the SVS B-stock page and I grabbed it. It has a 320 watt integrated Bash amp. I didn't know how hungry their passive subs are so I went to the powered side for simplicity. As you said... why build in the complexity.
