    Marantz PM-7000 bad sound quality

I bought Marantz PM-7000 few months ago, i fed up with the sound quality of this amplifier, it just sounds really thin, some details in the midrange are really missing. No matter how high the volume i turn up, but still i can't hear some of the details from midrange. I feel really frustrated especially when listening to R&B and dance music.

Does anyone using Marantz PM-7000 Integrated Amplifier? Any opinion?

I'm thinking of changing it to Cambridge Audio Azur 640A, any opinion?

    My system:

    Acoustic Energy AE120 Speaker
    Marantz PM-7000 Integrated Amplifier
Kenwood Laser Disc player as CD player.

How did you decide it was the amplifier that was the problem? As opposed to some other component such as the speakers?
