Unfortunately the dual volume controls eliminate it from my list. Another line to consider is Conrad Johnson. Mr Peabody has lots of experience with CJ products.

Take a look at the Van Alstine Tube Preamp. It is reasonable in price at about $1500. It matched well with my Parasound SS amp but decided to go with his Tube Hybrid Preamp.
