There's a feedback loop of some sort. This is the manufacturer's explanation, but I don't have enough technical knowledge to say whether it's meaningful:

Maybe PSA doesn't have the rights to use the ICEpower wording and has for legal reasons changed it to SDAT?

Florian, can you elaborate on your dislike of the HCA-2? What are you comparing it to?

Looks like this post died here but none the less if someone looks in,i was hoping to get a little help if i could.I've been looking to get a low profile, cool running amp like the icepower amps.I'm actually looking into the ps audio trio, acoustic reality ear202 or the red dragon.Problem is i dont know enough and would like to hear what your suggestions would be.I'm getting some speakers that are 90db and 8ohm.Just in case my rotel rsx1056 is'nt up to the task i would like to add 1 of these amps if need be.Any help as to which would be the better option would be great.thanks

I need to find either an Acoustic Reality or Bang & Olufsen dealer in my area -- both have omnidirectional systems...the Butterfly system even has room correction...

I don't know about room correction but isn't that Butterfly thing one of those Karmasutra techniques? Now that may be a hot feature.

See if you can get ahold of the GCA500 -- that's the one with the 1000ASP module.

How to adjust volume of bass vs treble with different power to each?

I'm using four ICEpower modules in a bi-amp setup for my 3.6Rs. 1000ASP modules on the bass panels, 500ASP modules on the mid/treble (that's 1,000 wpc and 500 wpc respectively).
Mike, How do you maintain volume relationship of bass vs treble when adjusting volume and amp power differs between bass and treble?

I'm using a DEQX unit as the preamp/crossover:

    http://www.deqx.com/PDC26P-Preamp.html

This unit allows for the outputted signal level to the bass and treble amps to be adjusted independently.

This also turns out to be an excellent way to adjust the "tone" without any negative effects on the sound. I tend to like my music bass-heavy, and with this unit, turning up the level of the signal to bass amp has absolutely no effect on the treble side. Sounds awesome!

I set the crossover frequency at 300hz, slope at 60db/octvave, linear phase. This turns out to be just about perfect for my 3.6Rs.

At $3500 PDC26P-Preamp exceeds my budget

Mike, perhaps you can advise me on a lesser solution. Currently I am bi-wiring B&W 804S speakers from a Rotel RB-1070 130wpc amp and using a Rotel RX-1050 Receiver as pre-amp. I am considering using the 100wpc amp in the RX-1050 to bi-amp the 804S's.

Do you have an opinion on benefit of doing this and if wpc difference is large enough to be a problem without separate volume control to bass and treble. Total volume is not the objective -- would like increased fidelity if obtainable with this setup.

    Thanks, Dan.
