I would consider an Odyssey Stratos amp at $1200 and then you have $800 left for a preamp of your choice.

Stratos amps are very good value for the money and they are made better today than when I bought mine.

I much prefer the sound of my iNova over my Emotiva setup. Originally I bypassed the iNova amp and used it as a preamp with my XPA-3. I've found that not only do I prefer the sound of the peachtree as both preamp and amp, but the 80 wpc is more than enough to run my Audio Physic Tempo's.

I have studied the Odyssey Audio stuff as well and agree that they are quite the product for the money paid and have heard that they can hold their own with pricier stuff out there. It really sounds to me like the OP has some studying to do to find out which direction to go in and also look for the best deal to boot.
