I purchased this deck recently and unlike my Technics decks the strobe on this Sony seems to 'blnk' at a slower rate. The Technics strobes look like they are virtually constantly on. I must admit the PS-X7 and PS-X6 that I have also do the same so I assumed it is normal for Sony or all Sony decks start to do this in time maybe?
