Should I pull the trigger or not?

I gotta chance to pick up the following vintage gear.

Carver C-4000 & Carver C-500

for a grand total of $400.00. Good deal or overpriced? Old as they are these would be my first separates.

I haven't listened to the things, but the reviews on this site speak highly. It's not a whole lotta dough for what looks quite respectable. If for anything, you can probably resell it at a profit if it doesn't pan out....

Might be worth some fun toying. I'm still continuing to to be impressed with the old VAC-Counterpoint pcs I just got back into nice working order.
