Evolution of Pioneer
Here's an update of the 2 new receivers that I scored. It is an evolution of the Pioneer company (I guess I'm a fan):

SX-650 : I love it. The phono stage is unbelievable. Sounds so good with my Luxman 272 and Grado Blue.

SMB-200A: Interesting find. Works at a bare level, but the 12AX7 tube is shot, so no preamp. More a novelty than anything, not sure if I will hold on to it.

the infamous magic eye

VSX-919AH: Cost vs. Performance is unmatched. Movies sound f@#$k'n amazing. My cd's are crystal and a little warm (with tweaks). Music imported and played from my PS3 through this smokes my cd player. PS3 is one of the best digital players under $1000.00.

I need to take a break from the gear though, so I can clean and listen to all this great vinyl that I just acquired.
Much respect!!

Congrats on your recent additions.
Your 650 is a nice intro into the classic Pioneer SX series from the mid to late 70's. If you get a chance to score something from 850 on up you won't be disappointed. Later Pioneer gear is pretty good as well and the more modern HT receivers I think give you alot of bang for the buck. My VSX-815 has been a warhorse.
