    Question Original MISSION Argonauts 1983 Trying to price

    I Have an Original Pair of MISSION Argonauts. They still sound perfect and If anyone could please help with a value on these it would be great! Check out the photo, There is no model number I can find. Please reply or email me at max@neo.rr.com..

    Those are the 780's...and they are Series 2. The Series 1 had the tweeter above the two woofers. I may be wrong, but are those ported as well? My S1's are sealed cabinets, so I'm just curious.

    As far as pricing goes, you might check audiogon.com's blue book. Originally, they were $2K, but that was 20+ years ago. I'd think $500-700 (depending on condition) would be a fair value for speakers that still hold their own quite nicely. I took mine on demo's to different dealers when shopping for an upgrade and it took quite a bit of searching before I found a modern speaker that bettered it in enough areas to justify the purchase.

    A good speaker is a good speaker, regardless of age. Why do you think AR9's and Klipschorns are still revered?
