Nevermind i talked to the Boss of Genesis and its the old Carver ribbon. So no Genesis, but he likes the Apogee more and told me that its close to the 201.....So cool, i am happy again! Who though that the owner of Genesis was an Apogee fan. He even had Duettas :-)

Carver's Amazings were a hybrid design that combined a ribbon panel with a "boxless" conventional driver subwoofer. Compared to the hybrid designs that Martin Logan was trying at that time, the subwoofer integration on the Amazings sounded much more coherent. The Amazings have the typical attributes of ribbon speakers, but also have enough of an aggressive sound that's amenable to rock and hiphop recordings. Their main drawback, as Flo pointed out, is that they take a lot of power.
If the ribbons are shot on those speakers on Ebay, Carver still has factory replacement ribbon sets available.

Parts Express has the Bohlender Graebener RD 48 Planar Transducer which they say is a drop in replacement for the Carvers requiring no changes in the crossover for $650.00 each.

You remind me of the old saying "He who dies with the most toys wins". Wishing you a long and healthy life of accumulating toys.
