What CD player to match my 602 S3s + NAD ?

I have B&W 602 S3s and an integrated NAD 7240PE amp.




What CD player would you reccomend for this setup? Budget ~400.

NAD makes some pretty sweet CD players. Have you checked into them?

That will be a future upgrade for five channel. Right now its two channel with that NAD.

The Cambridge Audio Azur 540c or 640c are nice. They use Wolfson dacs and I'm pretty happy with the results. Denon makes really nice sounding cd players. Whether it's the Burr-Browns dacs or the Alpha 24 processing, I'm unsure, the results are very smooth tho. You might be able to find a used Jolida or Ah! Njoe Tjoeb if you ever wanted to try a tube output stage. I've never enjoyed Sony's, Toshiba, or Panny's, but that's me.
