    Venue Series and E Series
I was wondering about this but is the JBL Venue Series a step up from the Northridge E Series since the Venue Series came out after the Northridge E Series? I do see some of the speakers specs like the Tour and the Balcony is better then the older series like the E10 or the N24. So I was wondering that if the Venue Series is overall a better series.

What I meant is that is the Venue Series between the Northridge E Series and the Studio Series?

So like the Venue Series is better than the Northridge E Series but not as good as the Studio Series??

I really want to know this. Also I would appreciate that no one makes fun of me anymore. Thank You

    Spanky,

    1) How much money do you have to spend on speakers?

    2) Have you researched other brands?

    3) People will always make fun of you... so it's best for you just to ignore it

I don't think Venue is a step up from the Northridge E series. The Studio series would of course be a step up.

So is the Venue Series and the Northridge E Series both the same line? Or does the Venue Series has any updates from the Northridge E Series? Or did JBL just changed the looks on the Northridge E series and called the new looks the Venue Series?

I don't know that there's any real lineage. If anything, the E series might be sonically superior to the Venue. I really like the E50. Good bass for a bookshelf speaker, although it's a pretty big speaker to call a "bookshelf".

Why are you stuck on JBL? There are better speakers available even at the prices you are able to afford.

Yes, I think your last sentence is correct. If I remember accurately, the Venue series replaced the Northridge series. The main change was only a cosmetic change in looks. Also the Venue series had less total number of models. So some of the Northridge models were not carried over to the Venue series.

So JBL made the change from one year to the next, changing the name from Northridge to Venue with a new look and also eliminating some of the models.

For example, the Northridge E10 and the Venue Balcony are the same exact speaker in different looking cabinets. See below and note that they both have the same tweeter, same mid/bass, same crossover, same efficiency and almost the exact same dimensions and weight on the cabinet plus other specs that are the same.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...specifications (click on the specifications tab)

Note that some of the specs are listed a liitle differently and the port holes are in a different place. That is just to confuse us, they are the same speaker.

The Studio series which I think is known as the Studio L series is a higher quality line.

    Hope this helps.

Well if the Venue Series, Northridge E Series and the orginial Northridge Series are the same speakers why didn't they just kept the Northridge Series that was made back in 1999?

Or is the orginial Northridge Series made back in 1999 is not as good as the Northridge E Series. Or was I right that all of the series is the same speakers just different looks?

I did remember something but the orginial Northridge Series made back in 1999 had a different shape of tweeters in the N26 and the N26II. I looked carefully on this and it's a little bit different but that might be because the N26 had a smaller and plastic enclosure and the N26II had a MDF wooden enclosure. But anyways I assumed that every new series had some minor improvements. But if not that is kinda disapointing that they didn't improve the newer models at all and just changed the looks.

If this is true why did they just changed the looks only? Was the old style that bad or something?

What would happen if took the Venue Balcony, removed the mid/bass and put it in the Northridge cabinet and installed a beryllium tweeter and covered it with "Hello Kitty" stickers?

    ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. .......................

Why are we even discussing this?

SVI, for someone who claims to be into speakers for a hobby, why dont you save your money for a year and buy some real speakers. JBL sucks unless you can afford to buy their high end line. Go into a real High end store and listen to some good speakers!

There, I said it, now I can go back to sleepingggggggggggzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Why is it no one here can talk about an inexpensive product? So many people are so damn arrogant. Pure crap? Oh, please.

Also...if you're going to determine that they're the same speaker based solely on the similar comments on the brief spec's like those found on that Amazon page, I suspect you'll come to the conclusion the S series was the same as the E.

02audionoob, its not really about the speakers. Just read his other posts, they go on and on about very inexpensive speakers. People give advice and the same questions come up, over and over.

And I'm sorry, I try not to put people or their equipment down. I guess I'm just having a bad day after just finishing working 6 straight nights and not getting much sleep.

Have you read his other theads? I suspect you haven't. But i'll admit, that in general, there's nothing wrong with talking about inexpensive products.

Where do you think Amazon and B&H got the specs which include a description of the exact same drivers, etc.... from JBL. I went thru this on another forum several years ago. If you look at the photos closely you'll see they are the same drivers. I confirmed this recently when I talked to JB and his brother Altec.

Who cares if he asks the same questions over and over. Just go to a different thread and read about Sarah Palin or the latest recipe for Tart au Citron or aquarium fish. At least he is keeping to the subject of audio/HT. It's a lot better than some of the other posters here who ask questions and you spend time to research and give opinions, facts and links and they never return or even acknowledge your post.

SVI is obviously a connoisseir of the entry level JBL models and is trying to get down to the niitty gritty of the distinctions between the various series over the last decade. He likes to be meticulously precise! It's sort of like the Pix is a connoisseir of the Vizio line.

Now, I'm going to go back over to Kex's thread about the top 10 worst Christmas presents. Chill out boys and girls. And for God's sake BR get some sleep!

    Say goodnight, Gracie.

I realize they're the same drivers. My point is if you go only by that, the E and the S are the same speakers. I'm not saying that are or they aren't...just that the original comment on the specs indicates the Venue and the E are the same speaker. By that logic, the S is also the same speaker. Not disputing it...just an observation.

The E series and Venue series use the same drivers respectively for the most part. The Venue series does offer a nice looking style and the porting is tuned a little lower. JBL (as do other manufactures) make these small changes so that they can announce a "new and improved" series and charge more for them. That's life. You may want to get used to this.

The S series JBL according to JBL has a:

    ".....High-Frequency Transducer 1" (25mm) Pure-titanium dome in JBL EOS™ waveguide, cast-aluminum chassis....."

The Northridge and the Venue according to JBL both have a:

    ".....High-Frequency Transducer 3/4" (19mm) Titanium-laminate dome, shielded....."

I quoted here direct from JBL literature.

Does 1" and 3/4" sound like the same tweeter to you?
