Unidentified speakers

Hi i got a pair of these old JVC speakers:



They seems original but i dont know the specific type..can anyone tell me a little about it?

Those are pretty cool looking speakers. How do they sound?

I have a friend who works for JVC Canada. I contacted him and he said that he would ask around to see if anyone there knows anything about them, but based on how old they look he wasn't hopeful that he would be able to find any information.

Also, he said that judging by the age of the speakers they are probably either an American or European model, so even less likely that there will be any information in the Canadian office. But I'll be sure to let you know if he finds anything.

Have you tried contacting JVC directly?

IMO they sounds fine and warm, I lack of any former experience with vintage speakers so i dont have an objective opinion.

I will try to contact JVC and i'll let you know if they know something about it.

They look like they're from the 1970's but the screw terminals look earlier.

I searched the net for some time yesterday and found many service manuals for sale that were also JVC-Victor, just not those. I'm thinking 60s or early 70s.

Yeah that's seems quit similar.

It can help if someone knows something about methoods of constructions of these things..each one got 4 speakers, two on each side, and there this white foam inside.

I'd say these Victory Corp of Japan speakers probably date to the 1960's. Given their high efficiency they were made to pair with a low power tube amp which was the norm in those days.

It was not uncommon during that era for speakers to have more of a furniture look. HiFi consoles were usually sold in furniture stores. I've got a 1960's tube amp that came from Montgomery Ward.
