System is fnally all done. Enjoy!
Well i finally got all my equipment up and running. This system is done for now!

Speakers are as i am sure all know by now Apogee DIVA Reference with custom made ribbons from Graz in Australia.

Preamp is a dual mono Sphinx Project 2 MKII with upgrades Caps, PSU and relays.

The Source is a Unison Research Unico CD with upgraded caps, PSU, drive circuit and tubes.

Power AMP is a Sphinx Project 18. Dual Mono also. Completely wired with Silver Siltech cable (all equipment)

Interconnects are Rapport XLR and Audioquest Slate BIWIRE

Speakers rest on custom made resonant absorbers. They are 80cm by 90cm and consist of small stones (fill) with a aprox. 43kg stone plate on top. The DIVA'S rest on this using 4 spikes.

I use Fullrange bass traps from RTFS behind the speakers and first reflection absorbers for the looks, they are pointless in this system.

    Comments are welcome...

    Thanks for looking

    -Flo

It's good that you are teaching Simon about the finer things in life. You watch, some day he'll have a system bigger and better than yours. You'll be so proud.

    What was his reaction?

I think you've given him something to reach for.

He would have to buy a Perigee Definitive for 108K or a IRS-V to reach it :p Since 108K is too far out and there is no way to fix the old IRS-V i am still ahead for a bit. I did save my .5 Maggies for him tough.
I hope that he does, i let him feel sound today. I took a carboard and made him hold it and put his hands on the board, then he felt how the DIVAS move the air ;)

He is already saving his money. I am teaching him not to follow the mainstream croud and do what he likes. He has LEGO Technics that he builds entire countrys from and some kids dont like that, but i still buy him some toys cause he likes it and its good for him since he can comprehend complex things very quickly. (he is a giftet child).

He knows how to value these things too and he knows why not to touch the ribbons or blow in them :p

PS: He liked how he felt the soundwaves. Was pretty cool

    That's great!

There used to be a "toy" years ago. Not sure if it's still around. It's an electronic bread board full of diods, transistors, resistors, etc. It came with instructions on how to wire it to make radios, amplifiers and stuff. My dad got me one of these when I was a kid. I used to play with it for hours. Mine was called 80 in 1, I think. (because you could make 80 different things with it)
