    Surround on a budget
At the risk of being flamed to death, here goes...

I'm building a sub for a class I'm taking. I'm planning on spending about $300 on it. I don't have much free time, so I want to buy the rest of my surround sound system (5-speaker set). I want to shoot for around $300.

Bottom Line: What's the best 5-speaker surround sound system I can get for around $300 provided I already have a sub. I'm not asking for specs or anything (I can look those up), just a place to start.

A couple of budget packages that come to mind are the HSU Ventriloquist ($311 delivered) and Fluance SX-HTB for $260 delivered. The HTD Middies go for $348, though I am unsure if that includes shipping. By far the best thing to do is look around for used speakers and get the front three, if possible. That will be your best value.

This will sound way better then anything else in this price range. You'll have two fronts and two rears. You can just run the system in phantom center mode and the left and right speakers will make all the sound the center was going to make.
