Question about Klipsch speakers.

Hello everyone. I'm quite new around here and I wanted to get some opinions about Klipsch speakers. I haven't purchased speakers in a while and I was interested in a pair of Klipsch Synergy III F-3 speakers. I'm not very familiar with this brand (allthough I know they have been around) and I was wondering what some of your opinions were on this brand. I currently have a Sony STR DE545 receiver. I will be replacing that soon after.

A friend of mine has Klipsch speakers that have dual woofers, horn
tweeter. Not sure what model no. (he bought them a few years ago)
They sound very good indeed. Powered by a Yamaha Receiver.

I used to own Klipsch La Scalla's
about ten years ago. Sorry I ever let them go (for $500).
They became popular since and sell new for about $2700.

The thing with Klipsch is you have to find a warm amplifier to go
with them, tubes actually are the best IMO. The amp I first had with the
La Scallas was an SAE power amp, and I really had to mess with an
equlizer so as they wouldn't sound harsh. I changed my amp to
a Nad and it made a world of difference. I think the model no was
3150.

So if you purchase the Klipsch Synergy speakers, make sure
you pair them with a warm sounding receiver or amp. The Sony
receiver you have in all probability would make the Klipsch speakers sound very harsh. Klipsch speakers have their own kind of forward
sound, some people love 'em, some people can't stand them.

klipsch is a respected & good brand, however, be sure to mate them with a warm sounding amp, are you going stereo or surround? if you go stereo, you could eventually mate them with a tube amp...

Klipsch is a VERY efficient speaker, Yamaha was always my favorite for them. They are known for theater mostly due to the horn. Right Now your Sony will push them o.k., once you more current. Yamaha, Onkyo, H.K. Denon, etc. you will notice the mids and lows start to come out.

Looks like you can get them for a very resonable price at Best Buy.
DEVO is right about them being efficient speakers. Yamaha is a good
reciever for them also. The speakers I have in a second smaller
hometheater are Axiom M3's and they are on the bright side to
my ears. I tried three recievers with them (Yahama, Denon, & Onkyo)
and the Yamaha tamed the brightness to a listenable
level. They still have a slight brightness, but some people like their
speakers to sound a little bright,,,,brightness doesn't mean bad

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about just going stereo. Surround sounds good and all, but I love cranking up a good pair of speakers.

I think this 2 channel receiver might be a good deal....but I don't know,
because I never recommend products that I haven't heard or owned.

I had a pair of Klispchorns--IMO Klipsch + tube amps = sweetness,,they are efficient,so it will take less tube power than you think,,drove em' with a pair of 40 watt mono's,,have fun and enjoy.
