Which Speakers Should I Buy?

Hi i am new here and dont really know much about speakers but my friend has some Stanton ATM .6 Active Monitor Speakers (http://www.stantondj.com/v2/prod_atm6_tech.asp) Having just looked there at the specs i noticed that it says power rating 18watts / 50watts but on the back of his speakers it says power rating 140watt they might not be exactly the same model? but anyway i wanted to get some speakers as close to those as possible does anyone have any sugestions?

Don't confuse power output with power consumption. The former is how much power is delivered to the drivers while the latter is how much power is consumed from the wall. Most conventional amps convert a fair amount of input power into heat.
