Speakers Required For Computer

Hi,
I am interested in buying a new speaker for my Computer, I previously owned Creative 5.1(normal), Kindly suggest me which one will be the best option : Bose, Klipsch, JBL, Creative Gegaworks, or any other
PS: I live in India(new delhi) kindly suggest any other speaker if only I can find its retailer here.:14: :23:

What kind of budget do you have. If you want something in the higher end, you are looking at $400-$900 US dollars.

Of the brands you named, I've heard good-sounding computer speakers from only Klipsch (in my opinion) and they're prone to electronic problems, as far as I can tell. I even saw a demo pair at Best Buy that was malfunctioning.

I have no idea what they cost but my dealer just picked up the Dynaudio line-up and they had a nice set of speakers hooked up to their computer - seemed to have surprisingly good sound. Depends on the price but you might want to look... http://www.dynaudio.com/eng/multimedia/facts.php

I heard these and a velodyne microvee sub connected to a friends computer and the sound was absolutely amazing.

Swans: Either the M200MKII, 70 watts RMS, $250/pair, or the M200MKIII, 120 watts RMS, $400/pair. These are comparable to their high end speakers, but with their own built in amplifier (large heat sinks on back to dissipate the heat). I have the MKII with a Def Tech subwoofer, and it's a great stereo system that just happens to connect to my computer and it's huge library of songs.

They are large and heavy, so they are best used on a large desk or with stands beside the desk.

Those Dynaudio speakers look great. Pretty expensive though!

I have the Klipsch Promedia 2.1. With movies viewed on my PC it's excellent. Music isn't bad, but obviously not as great as most dedicated stereo systems that most of us here own. Then again, you get that for $200, not $2,000. I'd highly recommend the Klipsch if good, not great, music playback is what you are after (and movies too).

I once heard a pair of Creative speakers (I think it was the Gigaworks T40) and thought they were terrible. They weren't in the same league as the Klipsch.
