    Which Speakers?

Im looking for a good budget set of speakers. Ive always had a thing for the Tannoy revolution R2's and now i can find a pair for £220 im seriously tempted. ive never read a bad word about them but i was interested to see if anyone had any opinions on the r2's vs. newer tannoys eg the eyris series (or any other speaker around this price bracket)?

    Thanks

Why not try them for yourself? If you really like those particular Tannoy models and they're now available for cheap, why not get them for yourself? Newer doesn't always mean better, and I can think of a few examples where a speaker line that succeeded a previous model sounded inferior. If the R2s are discontinued, the only issue is if you decide to piece together a surround system, since the matching center and surround speakers might be more difficult to find.

My favorite cheap speaker is the KEF Q1. Fantastic sound for the very low price. You may want to give them an audition.

    Good luck in your search!
