    would they break it?

would the rotel rmb-1075 (power amp, 5x120watts) in combination with my yamaha rx-v1200rds as a preamp break my b&w dm601 s3's ??
because the 601's are 100watts and the amp is 120 watts.
    the complete speaker setup is b&w 604s3 (front l+r), b&w lcr600 s3 (center), dm601 s3 (rear l+r)

Nope. Don't worry about the watts. In general, speakers are more prone to "breaking" due to being *under-powered*. I believe your B&Ws are quite safe.

You can blow any speaker with any amp if you try hard enough...

....so like drseid said, don't worry about it. I personally think you would do better with an Outlaw Audio amp though.

Dont worry, my speakers are rated that they need 100 watts@8ohm to reach their full potential. I have dumped 700 into them and they get better and better. Maggies are supposed to be more efficent then Apogees too, but with the same amp and same volume the Apogees play considerably louder. LOL.....nothing makes sense
Lots of music but not enough time for it all

so they won't break the 601's, i'm not afraid of the 604's because they're heavier

If they start to sound distorted, turn them down a bit. Otherwise you are very good to go. Enjoy them.
