after the usual tortuous research and decision-making, and lots of helpful comments from here (sorry, a search doesn't turn up that original thread). Mind you in '87 these were pretty revolutionary.

...Got a set of JMLab Chorus 716s speakers, and what a difference. It's too soon to review but let me say this: got old Bose AM stuff? dump it. After years of wondering what happened to dynamic range, and inconsistent reproduction, it was time. Should have done it years ago.

Why don't mfrs make a thing to mount on speaker tops to keep your wife from thinking these are cherry sided plant stands?

why do you think I got the Bose? Seriously, it was part , albeit a small part, of the master plan way back when.
