    Rebuilding my father's old speakers

Hi, I'm a newbie here so if anyone could help me I would appreciate it.

I am trying to rebuild my father's old stereo system. The speakers are Jensen LS-6. The problem appears to be the woofers which are 15".

I contacted Jensen and they told me they now only make guitar woofers.

Where can I get a 15" woofer for both of the speakers?

    Thanks,

    Michael

    What's wrong with the woofers?

One step at a time. They might be salvagable.

If it's the stuff around the outside of the conethat's whacked out, This can generally be fixed at a reasonable cost. that's called "refoaming" a speaker

Here's one site of many that does this or will sell you a kit to do it yourself: http://www,newfoam.com

Thank you for the advice MarkW. My brother brought the speakers to an electronics shop and that was their diagnosis. I wish I knew or understood more.

Where in NJ are you from? I'm from South Amboy myself and that's where the system is.
