    Anyone listened to TruAudio Speakers?

My local audio/video company wants to sell me some speakers that are dealer bought only, for my home theatre system. For Fronts and Centers TruAudio Tru-Cinema Model TC465 LCR(800$/ea),
Rears R2-8 in ceilings(650$/pair), and Tru Cinema TC-12 Sub-woofer(1500$). Has anyone ever heard of these? Are they any good? Is there something better out there for the price?

See the TruAudio website. It sounds like they are specialists in custom installation and in-wall speakers. They do, however, have a reasonably comprehensive line of cabinetted speakers as well.

As for the quality, who knows? I'd never heard of them before today. The prices aren't cheap, e.g. $1600 for a pair of TC465's, so you might hope for quality. But that's the problem: what assurance do you have? Before I considered the TruAudio any further I'd be sure to listen to serveral of the better know and well-reputed brands, e.g. Paradigm, PSB, NHT, Monitor Audio, Quad, Usher, Epos, (to name only a few).

I'll 2nd what Feanor said... In that price range you have a wide range of very good speakers... I wouldn't buy anything before listening to some of the more popular brands (the ones feanor mentioned plus B&W, Totem, KEF, Energy, Revel and the list goes on and on)... Try and audition at least a few of the popular brands...
