I used to own a PS-1000. The 120 watt amplifier was annoyingly weak. The soft clipping feature protected the speaker from damage and any rude distortion noises but the bass was almost never there when I really wanted it. I bought mine for 450 bucks many years ago. For 175 bucks though, it is sure to spank any sub at that price pretty badly. All that being said, its a sure deal. An extremely smooth and clean sounding sub.
