    One Horny Horn

If you've read any of my posts of late you know I'm currently into horns. Here's one using the Fostex FE108E driver.

The Croatians are on to something.

How much do they go for?

I thought this Croatian creation is a looker as well.

C'mon poultry, don't you know what happened with Ring Audio concerning the Frugal horns?!? Here's some interesting reading for anyone who wants a quick view into how seedy the audio industry can be.

    The thread from diyaudio... http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/full-...ugel-horn.html

    The infamous 6moons review... http://www.6moons.com/industryfeatures/ringaudio/1.html

What, no Sonus Faber on the site? Marshall Tito would be proud...

...and now Slobodan Milošević would be proud...

Thanks guys. Now I'm going to have a day with Stjepan Radić and Bihać and a variety of not-too-funny, obscurantist Balkan humor. Where's Snježana Pejčić when I need her? Somebody shoot me...

(Kinda looks like a big, sad horn, eh?)

So, I broke into the palace
With a sponge and a rusty spanner
She said : "Eh, I know you, and you cannot sing"
I said : "That's nothing - you should hear me play piano"

Okay, I just skimmed the above links--partially out of interest but mostly out of guilt for having made such a ridiculously off-topic post--and it seems as if the Flugel Horn boys aren't completely above controversy themselves.

Not sure I get how this is "seedy"? There is, after all, only so much stuff in the world, poppa.

That Deep Croat Horn looks like a Salvador Dali and yes I did read all that soap opera stuff.

Since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that must mean my Mk3's are gonna kick butt.

    Me likes em horns too!

Used to run a pair of these in a mobile DJ setup:

    Altec Lansing A4

They had JBL 2205 15's in them and the horns pictured with 802D compression drivers - less the side panels or "Wings". 84" tall and 395 lbs empty for the LF section. Only used them for about a year and got tired of hauling them around.

Drove them with a Phase Linear model 400 and they sounded GREAT.

Just waiting for someone to say aw "BS" and I'll go dig up a picture or two.......
