Need Opinions: Can this receiver drive these speakers?

I'm helping a friend put together his first home theater system. He likes the sound and look and feel of Klipsch speakers. Which I think is great because their high sensitivity makes them easy to pair with any old receiver. He definitely wants to watch movies at reference levels--SPL's are more important than just about anything else to this guy--and he's never going to be the kind of guy who wants to buy separate power amps for each channel.

Here's my question:
Do you think the Denon 1804 with 90 watts per channel for $399 will adequately drive the Klipsch RF-7's (their flagship) to reference levels and beyond? The RF-7's are 8ohm speakers with a sensitivity of 102dB @ 2.83v/1meter.

The rest of the system:
Center channel: RC-7 8ohms 98dB@2.83v/1meter
Surrounds: RS-25's 8ohms 96dB@2.83v/1meter
Sub: Velodyne 15" or 18" (whatever we find the right deal on)
Video: Samsung 61" DLP

One sales guy we spoke with went on and on about how the RF-7's require a high-current amplifier. I blew him off saying that at 8ohms with a sensitivity of 102dB, these speakers were probably the easiest speakers to drive in the entire store. I think he knew that money wasn't really an object with my friend so he figured he'd try to sell a $2K receiver when a $399 receiver would do just fine.

Anyone care to make the argument that we should go with a more powerful amplifer? Or do you think we've got all the bases covered with the Denon 1804?

Not having experienced this particular combination, I'll venture a guess that, based on the sensitivity ratings, power available and the fact that a powered subwoofer is involved, that this combo will play loud enough to raise the dead.

I have Denon AVR-3803 that is rated at 110 watts x 7 channels and it drives my 92db BP7000SCs to painful levels. The 1804 should be more than adequate.

Yep that Denon will be fine. Hell your buddy would probably be fine with a $200 receiver. But yeah, just about any receiver in this price range will be fine.
