    Need a center channel.....

Hi all, can you guys recomend a center channel for me? I need to replace my Polk csi245, it just doesn't fit on the mantel, here's the catch, it can't be any higher than 5 1/2" high or 6" deep......and under $150.00. Some specs: Mains: Polk r40's, rears: polk r10's, 2 subs: 1-8", 1-12", amp: Onkyo txds656.
    Thanks!

Your picture seems to indicate that you could go with a center speaker that is wider than 6" where otherwise, you'd be stuck with htib center speaker.

Would you be adverse to install a shelf on the mantle, you could paint it so it would blend in better, so as to accomodate better quality center speakers. Otherwise, what you need to look into are the new speaker lines that are designed for a minimalist look surrounding flat panels. I believe B&W, Definitive Tech and others produce such a line of speakers, but they too come with compromises in sound quality to achieve a slim look.

    Hi,
May be you can try the new slim design on -wall speakers from Boston acoustics or Mirage. I think they look pretty nice and cool!

Ok, that makes more sense...because 6" wide really would have been a challenge.
