Question Is my 9 year old Velodyne sub any good?

    Hey guys!

My dad gave me this sub 2 years ago and I have been using it. I am just curious how is this subwoofer? It's a size 10" correct?

Thats an excellent sub. If your not happy with it, I'll be glad to take it off your hands. Its a servo controlled sub and velodyne makes some of the best subs around. I own a cheaper Velodyne model that is several years old.

Now that I think of it, you were asking us this exact same question a while back. Why are you asking again?

As slick Willie might say "It's the sound stupid"!
Seriously, if it sounds good, it is good. Be it a 10", 12", 15" or an 18", sound not size is what matters.

It's quite surprising though that it would hardly measure 10" as seen on the picture and yet is supposedly a 12" givien the model name. i know drivers measure smaller than their supposed size but this is a little extreme.

Seems they should have standards of measurement. Maybe oughtta start by weighing the magnets or some such stuff...

The HGS-12 was a beast of a sub for both audio and HT. You would be hard pressed to better it with a more modern sub.
