Infinity Renaissance 80's at a pawn shop

    Hello,

I came across a pair of Infinity Renaissance 80's at a pawn shop yesterday, pretty good shape, asking price is $350.00 as is. one of the mids or tweeters is blown.

If that is *all* that is wrong with them, is that an OK deal?

I've poked around the net a little and it seems like the emit/emm? tweeters and midranges most always blow as an open in the filament run with a delicate but doable repair.

I'm capable of doing such repairs but I'm just curious, is it a deal? I'm looking to replace my DIY's with something that works well.

Quick replies welcome if I am to impulse buy..

    Thanks

    JK

You can't go wrong with older infinity speakers. They look good, and sound wonderful. Is it an emit ribbon tweeter, or dome tweeter?? Make sure you can replace it first before you buy them. Call up infinity, or search ebay for replacements.
