    Infinity Reference 3 Repair

Hello All. I have a pair of Infinity Reference 3 speakers that I got for free. The woofers need to be refoamed/replaced. Would it be best to just buy a replacement speaker and if so does anyone have a suggestion. I've never done the refoam repair, is it tough? I saw the instructions but a little first hand experience would be helpful. Anyway thanks for your help.

First off, I doubt if Infinity would have a direct replacement. Last I checked they didn't stock parts long at all for models. They may be able to sell you something close.

Several years back I had a pair of Kappa 7's. I am not mechanically inclined so I had the re-cone done by a tech shop. It worked beautifully. Original woofers good as new.

If you decide to replace the woofers, keep in mind any woofer the same size will not work. It has to be the same impedance, sensitivity and frequency response/range as the original.
