    Congrats, GM.

They look incredible and am sure they'll sound as good as they look. I gues we cabn expect to see some pics of speakers instead of thousands of your girlfriends.

It's not for sale. But if you want to come here and pick it up, I'll just charge you $800.

I can't get this song out of my head:

When I think of Lorelei my head turns all around
As gentle as a butterfly she moves without a soundI
call her on the telephone, she says be there by eight
Tonight's the night she's moving in and I can hardly wait
The way she moves, ooh-oohI gotta say
    Chorus:Lorelei let's live together
    Brighter than the stars forever
    Lorelei let's live together
    Brighter than the stars forever
Her eyes become a Paradise, she softly speaks my name
She brightens every lonely night, no one's quite the same
She calls me on the telephone,
she says be there by eight
Tonight's the night she's moving in, it's time to celebrate
The way she moves, ooh-oohI gotta say(Chorus)

They're in town! The trucking company's hub is just down the road from where I work. I'd love to run down and pick them up now, but I doubt they'd fit in my car. So, I'll leave here in about an hour & 1/2 to meet them in PA. Funny that they are only a few hundred feet away but I'll have to drive 40 miles to get them.

I'd give almost anything to have my speakers re-finished in Rosewood. Maybe I'll just try to find a way to surround them with Rose bushes.

Lord knows you don't need to be reminded GM, but we're all looking forward to seeing pics of them.

Have you thought of going to Lowes or Home Depot to see what laminates they have available. Bet you could do it yourself.

Yeah, pics will come. Right after I'm done listening.

Edit: Oh, and by the way. You already have some d'm nice speakers of your own there pal.

Thanks for the suggestions and compliment GM. With all the insults I've had to endure recently from pencild!ck, it's good to hear things like that from someone who knows what home theater's really all about.

The cabinets are covered with a Black Ash laminate already; I'm not real handy (nor do I have the proper tools) with woodworking, but I think over time I'll be able to get the room treatments/decorations in place so they won't stand out as much.

My wife made me do that for a fancy schmancy sleigh bed once.

But, for the record. I take it back, I'm not kidding, when I say "You Stink!" I hate it when one of you jimmies gets some cool new toy and I don't. I'm stuck in limbo for at least another six months, more probably a year, before any big upgrades. My jealousy is real and virulant. Acquisitions like yours, or Jrhyammo's Maggies, make me think that I'm just kidding myself when I say in my head "I'm happy with what I have. I don't need an upgrade. I don't need a:
    1. Phono preamp and speedbox,
    2. HDTV,
    3. Blu-ray,
    4. New speakers,
    5. New amps,
    6. New cart.,
    7. New Record Cleaning Machine, or
    8. Whole new dedicated two channel set up"

Unfortunately, I'm looking forward to your pictures, in my now otherwise empty life. Thanks for nothing.

P.S.: In all seriousness, your enthusiasm is contagious. I love it when other people appreciate the scale of their upgrade rather than, for instance, talking about $5,000 Krells and Mark Levinsons like their passe (sp? I can't find the little french accent). Thanks for sharing.

    Are they here yet?!?

Congrats, Mike! I know you've had your eyes on the the Mini's for awhile now and I'm glad you're finally getting to realize your dream. Great feeling, isn't it? Can't wait to see pics and hear about your impressions once they are burned-in.

The A23 is neat little amp. I've always liked the Halo line, particularly their controllers. When you're ready to bite the bullet, you should check out the *shameless plug* PS Audio Trio. It will have more power than you'll need and should work famously with the planar top end of the Mini's.

    Enjoy your new toys!

If you just had those sweet speakers arrive, what would you be doing...sitting on this forum or.....setting them up and checking them out?
