How will they compare to say Klipsch RB-15s or other similarly horned speakers, sound-wise? They will be connected to a low-powered amp, like a NuForce Icon or Virtue One.

    Errrr....
Nope, but I've a couple of their Subs for years now. I know that doesn't help. Looks like a pretty good speaker to me. Don't know about that naked finish though. Reminds me of some early 80's Klipsch offerings.

Me neither. The natural finish on those kinda reminds me of the Adire Audio subs for some reason but they definitely look better than the Klipsch stuff nowadays. Still not a fan of the horns even in high sensitivity applications.

I'd only use them for HT, maybe surround duty. Their shallow cabinets look like they were meant to be mounted on walls for HT.

Well I'm going to give them a listen this weekend at Hsu. If they sound half decent, I'll buy the pair. At this price point, it'll be hard to find much fault with them. Worf, just for you, I'll get the plain black finish, if I decide to buy them.

Be adventurous - get Expresso or even Rosenut...

    well, its been w while....
what happened? i did notice they are quite sensitive at 92db so a low powered amp will work nicely. i havent heard that system but yeah, i have a hsu sub which i went down and bought at the factory.

hey flyer, have you been aware of the LA/OC audio society? lots of the meetings are in your end of town.

the next one is in monrovia, a bit far for you but brooks' place is worth the drive.

anyway, let us know about the sound.
