    Velodyne 12" Impact voltage?

    Hi everyone,

Quick question about velodyne subwoofers. I'm situated in the UK where we use a 240v electrical supply. Velodyne subwoofers use a 120v supply of electricity, and i was wondering whether or not this would be a problem?

    Thanks - Jack

Yes it will be a problem, unless there is a voltage selector switch on the sub.

Look at BK Elec subs, they are about as good value for money as you'll get in the UK:

unless there is a voltage switch,

it'll do one loud boom, for one time only
so yes, it'll be a problem...

there are voltage adapters that will adapt to the proper voltage from 240 to 120 volt but I am not sure what they cost verses just getting a sub that is designed for use with the UK voltage. I would say that I would go the route of looking for a unit with 240 capability since a lot of units out there can do either.
