high powered speakers

no book shelves thanx i like the big floor speakers lol

be sure to look up some more information on them, and don't forget to audition them, if possible, at your home. When you go for the cerwin vega speakers, the $1000 budget will surely be enough, klipsch might be a problem when you take the better models.

I will be coming out with my audiophile pro speaker system. I'm guessing it will be about 95db-97db efficient. It will be using a 15" Eminence Kappa Pro 15LF, a 6.5" PHL 1120 true midrange, and an aurum cantus G2Si Ribbon for the tweeter in about a 100liter vented box. It will be capable of taking 300watts easily and play at 118db without groaning. The box will look like this:

i bought em off my buddys dads store there 15 an they bump like hell!!!!!!!!! i couldnt tell u the model number rite now he had to rebuild them a customer beat them up an stripped out the drivers hes gettin me all the info on them wen i get it ill post it here

The older DCMs were very efficient and sucked lots of power. I used to have the KX-10s. Truth be told, 250 to 300 watts is not that much power to be worried about. I used to have a Mackie 1400 pro audio amp driving my Paradigm Monitor 9s. 250 into 8 ohms, 425 into 4ohms. I drove the amp into the red several times. Music was extremely loud and the Paradigms took it with ease. DCM or Cerwin Vega should have not problems. It won't sound very good, but I'm assuming that's not the point.

I believe you will find that your figures are backwards. 1 to 2% of the power in watts comes out as sound waves.
