Help - Pioneer HPM 100 cut out problem

I have a pair of Pioneer HPM 100 speakers on approval. The good reviews on this site got my attention when a friend said he had some big Pioneer speakers he was not using. The owner said one had a problem. I have been listening to them for about 1 hour and sure enough one of them cut out for maybe 2-3 seconds twice. By cut out I mean went dead or off then came back on then did it again in about 15 seconds. It has not done it for the second hour. I was using norrmal to low volume on my Sansui 9090db that drives my Sansui 2500X speakers just fine.

Any ideas as to the problem? I am thinking coil short or crossover problem but do not know if these would affect all three or four of the speakers in the HPM 100 at one time.

    Thanks for any ideas.

You guys let me down and I had to act.

Well it has not happened again and I bought them. I am counting on you guys to come up with an answer as the old owner said it comes and goes. How about a loose connection inside from the speaker posts. Guess I would have to pull the woofer out to check it out.

    Ideas?
