Post Help me choose the sub for my HT setup

I am thinking of adding a sub to my present system. It presently consists of Paradigm
Titans, CC170 and HK 225. The system sounds awesome. It lacks low end bass though.
I live in a medium sized apt. and don't listen at high volumes. I am looking to add a sub
in the $250 range. I know some of you don't agree to the price range. But this is all I got
to work with and I don't want to wait for a couple of months. I have narrowed it down to
    the following :

    1. Celestion S20 -- $99
    2. Velodyne vx10 -- $145
    3. AS-P400 -- $200
    4. JBL PB10 -- $181 (heard some bad reviews about its reliability)
    5. HK SUB12 -- $200

I would greatly appreciate any comments or suggestions..

    Thanks,
    R_N_M

I'd look around for a used sub from SVS, HSU, or Adire Audio. Check eBay as well for a used sub. If you have something to power it with other than your primary receiver a used passive sub would work wonderfully. Just be patient and keep your eyes open. For example, I bought a used VMPS Large Subwoofer off eBay for $182 shipped and it has perfomed excellent.

Definitely NOT the JBL. Stay away from this model. (Higher end JBLs are fine.)

Bryan's right: bang for the buck is in the used arena.
