    Bose speakers to laptop?
Hi I'm not very experience in sound technology and have recently been given a pair of Bose 2001 reflecting/direct speakers. I want to hook them up to my laptop, but the ends of the cables are just open wires that have to apparently be connected to an amp or receiver. Is there any way i could get an adaptor or something for it? Is it worth it or will the quality be awful?
    Thanks

    yes, they need an amp...

there is no other way out :p
there are masses of amps and receivers out there, most cost effective would be a Sonic Impact T-amp, they can be had for under $100 and will sound good enough for the bose speakers...

oh, welcome to AR, btw :)

    Keep them spinning,
    Bert.

One possibility would be an inexpensive amp like the AudioSource AMP100 and a USB wireless sound transmitter.

Or a wired USB sound controller:

You could sell them for $50 and buy a decent set of computer speakers, they will sound better.
