    Bose 901 Bass quality

I purchased a used pair of Bose 901 series VI with equalizer. I am driving them with a late '70s Pioneer SX-780 with 45 watts per channel. The problem is, I do not have as strong bass as I remember these speakers having. The problem may be with their placement. I have them both in front of a floor to ceiling glass wall. I am guessing that they need a wood wall of some kind to reflect the bass. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Back in the day (70's) some friends of mine had the 901 series 1 and 2. They both had at least 60 watts (HK Citation rated at 60W but was probably higher since HK would under rate their stuff back then), the other guy had Ampzilla amp which was around 100W. So the problem might be power. Not sure but I would borrow a higher amp before redoing a wall.

I’m guessing your EQ is connected to the Pioneers tape monitor loop.
The driver surrounds are in good shape ? No foam rot?
The series 6 has been in production for over 20 years so the early ones could have rotted foam.
